Because I have just got home from my retirement do. About 9 years early but
it all seems affordable so long as I don't want to overland to China on a
    GS1200 on a regular basis.

There will now follow 30 years (so the actuary said) of motorcyling, taking
photographs, making curry and spending November in Spain.

I am now free to audition for a place on a French trip.

Fuckers. Whichever way I look at it I think I'm working for at least
another 20+ years. Well, working might be putting it a bit strongly.

I've just passed 20 years retired. I highly recommend it.

    Life's a fucker sometimes.

    How many people work here?
    Oh, about half of them...

I had hopes and dreams riding on several thousand options that went down
the drain when the company tanked. So now I have to do it on my own.

I don't think you're alone there... I never had 'retirement' options but
had sufficient to clear mortgage, buy second house etc. etc. etc.

Well, I would have had sufficient had the fucking things vested 12
months before the dot.com bubble crashed. As it happened they just
shriveled away. It was rather a humbling experience. Still I'm better
now, my arrogance is almost back to the same level as it was.

I must be a closet mathematician then. Mine dew, I was feeling
particulary inspired last week, su ch that when the final bit of
genius idea came to me on Saturday I got the laptop out and finalised
the tech spec. Dead clever, it is, and so simple it'll only take a
week or two to program. Chuffed, I was.
