Teach a man to fish and he and his pikey mates will have the
river cleaned out in a day.

It is; by the TUC but Unite is for all intents and purposes the TUC....

Do you want broad brush answers or specifics? To be honest, I don't give
    a **** about this dispute.

C'mon, spill the beans. It's hardly Top Secret, else your arse would be
    in a sling already.

Yes, every time I've been there has always been the overly
stereotypical Brits on the Piss, but they tend to hang around
the old town square and shitty clubs there.
You don't need to go too far, just off the main routes.
There are some real trendy bars just off the main route
to the Charles bridge and they all seem to do cracking
    food as well.
It does, which is why they have ice breakers at the
foot of each of the legs of the Charles bridge and the
    weir as well!

Why would I? I favour "demands".

Gov't blaming the Union is not new or unusual - it's something that comes
with the territory. It takes two to tango and Managers are never totally
blameless if an issue goes to a yes vote for action [1]

Ministers have discovered it can prove to be a long term disadvantage to
vent their spleens on unions. cf. FBU

Back to the original point - it's an advantage to have public support
but, to be honest, not a consideration for me.

  9. I would certainly agree with that.

  10. Do I detect a UKRM clay shoot coming up?

    I'm up for it.

Haven't shot clays for a while though.

I was in 50F in Tulse Hill, London. Loved every minute of it. We
were near an underground shooting range (TA) so often went shooting
303 and SLR. Went gliding most weekends, and went on annual camp to a
proper airbase where we went up in everything from Chipmunks to very
big planes with lots of engines. Local yobs in Tulse Hill used to
vandalise our hut a lot, so occasionally the commander would get the
rifles from the range and select a number of windows in the local
flats for us to practice on. Kept the natives at bay a little.

But you're up to date on Kafirs? I'll get me coat.

I'd be up for if I'm back and it's southish. Never done it before, but
it looks fun, if rather tricky.

It'd be like herding cats.....though could be fun.

Shame that nice shoot near you at Pentney Abbey seems to have closed
down. That was one of my favourites.

Shite. BUt I was being somewhat disingenuous, I was shooting skeet
there that day but not actually in the GP ;-)

Excellent. You really need that every week discipline to get on.
Sadly I've been about 3 times this year so I'm getting worse!

  16. I haven't shot there for 4(?) years.
Shot clays at a 'farmer shoot' a couple of times each year.
Shoot pistol and rifle a couple of times a month.

Given that SD and I worked in the main control centre at Northwood, ie
Fleet HQ, we might have more of an inkling than most....
