What you talking about? You could EASILY have given her a pearl necklace. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
Not so strange really. Neither me or the missus ever remembers our wedding anniversary until the day and then only if we happen to look at a calender and see the date. It stops *any* kind of barney starting about who forgot what and when though. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
I'm sorry, that is just *odd*. This, OTOH I can relate to. I do that. It's not that I forget the date of my own birthday, it's just a failure to realise that it's that date when it rolls around. I simply don't place any importance on the event. Of course, the mrs usually spoils such ignorance by whipping out a card.
Well, my two occasions were somewhat unusual. One I now recall clearly - I was at the Bol D'Or, and it was Saturday night, and all sort of mayhem and stuff had ensued. I suddenly exclaimed "Hey, it's my birthday!", looked at my watch, realised it was a couple of hours past midnight, and then said "well, it *was* my birthday".
I got married the day after my birthday. The ex-(bitch) chose the date in the hope that I wouldn't forget - little did she know that I don't usually celebrate my own birthday and frequently go through the whole day without realising what the date is. In the 5 years we were married I never once remembered our anniversary or her birthday, but never forgot to get my daughter a card when it was hers... now that really pissed her off. -- Lozzo Versys 650 Tourer Fireblade 929 (For sale) CBR600F-W trackbike SR250 SpazzTrakka, SR250 wivva topbox TS250C RD400F, somewhere I see a bright new future, where chickens can cross the road with no fear of having their motives questioned

I'm not having a problem. Cheaper last minutes holidays are every where. We've just picked up one in the Red Sea half price all inclusive. Short time period 3-4-5 days holidays could be a problem. 20 night ones are silly cheap. 20 nights Sharm / Naama Bay, AI 4* £595, with 4 days notice was available last week. Doesn't fit your bill but if you don't mind the Caribbean go via Florida and get an American priced cheapy. May be go via Brussels or Paris on Eurostar and avoid air the tax etc to get out of the country. Every passenger flying from a UK airport is taxed at £10 for domestic or EU destinations and £40 for long haul economy flights. For travel in upper classes, the charges are doubled. Fly via Germany and buy air fares at low low prices. (Condor) I sorted out a flight back from Marsa Alam in March for a friend via Munich: Condor £72 to Munich, Berlin Air £15 to the UK First Choice(?) £285
