Is it just me or has anyone else noticed numerous sites responding
*very* slowly or just falling over in the past month or so?

From home and work, different PCs, so nothing my end.

    So far today:-
First Direct online banking, dead right now.
Maplins site, working fine one minute, freezing for 30+ secs the next
    minute.
pocketgpsworld.com dying on and off for couple of hours (view page, ok,
go to another page, dies for 20 mins until something reboots, then its
    ok for a while).

Is there some huge botnet attack, or new nasty rootkit doing the rounds?

Or have I turned into iTimo?

  3. I've been noticing IE7 locking up lately, both at home and at
work. I'm wondering if last week's patches mucked something up (or maybe
SP3, but I think it started more recently than that). If I get to task
manager while it's still misbehaving, it seems to be throwing lots of page
    faults.
