Has anybody got an old mobile phone suitable for a teenager who has just
jumped into the river (in his school uniform) with his mobile still in
    his pocket?

    Kids eh?

Actually, dont turn it on, just dry it out for a couple of days (easy in
    this weather)
and try it again (remove battery and SIM while drying)
My boss dropped his Blackberry in the swimmng pool and 24hrs later its in
    full working order
    worth a try?

I've got a brand new Orange PAYG phone still in it's box that you can have
    for £20 delivered.
Can't remember what make it is , but it's ok for a cheapie

If he can stand the shame, I can dig out an Alcatel. I believe I'm not
far from you if you want to arrange a handover,

Is "Dropping your Blackberry" like "losing your cherry" but involving piles?

Thank you all for you offers and suggestions. I'm going to go with
Brownz suggestion of a new Nokia from Tesco for a tenner.
