If your package is big enough (M,L & XL iirc) then you'll have some Sky Channels back now FOC. Sky One is at 121 on the Box.
And about fucking time too. Now we'll have even more channels not to watch. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
I noticed that on the pikey level of VM that we have, Sky3 is now on. It seems to consist of exactly the same rubbish that's previously been on ITV3/4 or Dave.
Apparently, it all happens on Thursday for us (not sure if it's this week or next) but like you say, the majority of it has all been aired a few (hundred) times before. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
I had an amusing discussion with a door to door Sky salesman that was targetting Virgin users. He ask how I felt about Virgin not providing Sky1 any longer. Told him that I hadn't even noticed. He listed the programmes that I was missing, and it was like a Hamster and Clarkson discussion... I can only get ITV1-4, Channel 4, More 4 & E4 on Freeview - nothing else until 2012. Everything else I want is available straight off the satellite dish, except for Dave & Eurosport. Which is a bit of a shit really. Talking of which, how come a satellite with presumably limited power can send a signal over 22,000 miles, but a Freeview transmitter can't even manage 35 miles? -- Krusty www.MuddyStuff.co.uk Off-Road Classifieds '02 MV Senna '03 Tiger 955i '96 Tiger '79 Fantic Hiro 250
Same here, except s/Sky/Virgin/ And with Eurosport losing the MotoGP, it did make me think about ditching cable for a while, but really the racing's a bit pants these days compared to WSB and BSB. OTOH, I much prefer the Tivo over the Humax recorder, so I record what I can from cable on Tivo, and any clashes go to the Freeview Hummy. I keep meaning to build a HTPC, but I just don't seem to have time.
The dish area is huge compared to the relevant bit on a yagi and the LNB is very sensitive. Then you have the distance effects of shitty weather on a path from the Freeview transmitter to you, compared to the very thin atmosphere the sat signals come through.
That bit I can believe, but... ....that bit sound dubious, considering the fact my sat dish is virtually horizontal, & also pointing straight at a concrete block wall. -- Krusty www.MuddyStuff.co.uk Off-Road Classifieds '02 MV Senna '03 Tiger 955i '96 Tiger '79 Fantic Hiro 250
