A couple of people (can't remember if they're goodies or badies) in a
small shite old boat. Some other people in another boat start chasing
them. The driver of the first boat hits a switch & a panel opens to
reveal the controls for a couple of bloody great hidden engines,
allowing them to leg it at a great rate of knots. It may have been one
of those Chinese things whose name I forget.

I saw it many, many years ago, & can't remember anything else about it.

Was that the one where they escaped on motorcycles?

Yes. Motorcycles cunningly disguised as boats.
    That *is* odd.

I'm pretty sure it isn't. Definitely not a Gondolar & not Moonraker.

The bond one was Roger Moore and I think that the gondola was just motorised
and then turned into a hovercraft skirt thing?

I'm assuming you're not thinking of Condorman perchance?

Don't think so - I don't remember any superheros in it. After racking
my brains some more, I think the boat was like a small fishing boat or
cabin cruiser, & the extra engine controls behind the hidden panel had
a Rolls Royce sticker by them.

Google shows a1922 film called Oath-Bound in which there's a motorboat
    chase including a hydroplane.

IIRC it's in the plot of one of the Alastair Maclean novels, which
might have been filmed. Of course nowadays I rarely RC.

  19. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
RR industrial engines have a wee RR plaque. Just stamped metal, though.

Nah, nothing they've brought out in the last 40-odd years has been
