    Sparkling Red ROCKS!
    Especially the Banrock Station Shiraz

Seriously, give it a go. I've been shit faced on it twice now.
    Goes down like my missus

Always saline, sometimes metallic, zinc perhaps? The best vintages have a
peppery quality at the back of the tongue ;)

Absolutely. Make sure it's well chilled first. There was a discussion
about this sometime ago, when Bear mentioned Rockford sparkling Shiraz.
Someone offered to see if they could get any in this country, can't
    remember who though.

There's a Co-op near me. It's on my route in/out of Cardiff so I've stopped
a couple of times. Their wines are pretty good and unlike the Tesco Metro,
round the corner from me, they have a large amount of booze in the fridge.

Not tried the red fizz yet.

It's not as nice as the banrock station one. But it works.

I'm waiting for someone to do a special offer so it's less than 8 quid a
bottle. The best I've seen is Tesco at 45.64 for a case of 6.

Ah, that's why I have not tried it. Never spend anything like that for
general purpose inebriation. Last night I drank Tesco Oz Red 13%ABV. Very
    good value for £2.68

Their white shiraz is nice too.

Yep. Just make sure that when someone pours a glass for you, it's the
colour your expecting. White shiraz is bloody awful when you expect red.

I bought a few bottles at the good food show at the NEC last year. If
it's on offer again I'll be buying some more. It does indeed rock.

Luckily, I can both see reasonably well (like, hey! It's pink in the
bottle!) and read, so it's not a problem...

What I meant is you've been drinking red all evening, someone puts a
glass in your hand when you are talking and you take a mouthful without
    looking.

Both myself and the woman tried it last summer.
It didn't "work" for either of us.

The tase was wrong for the "feel" bit like eating brussel sprout flavour
    crisps.

Brain expects something and can't "enjoy" something of such bizarre mix.

Others prolly ain't so fussy though.
