One of our drivers got caught speeding in a company pool car recently. I
sent the NIP back and asked for photographic evidence, as up to 4 people
could have used the car on that day.

We received this today (no photo though): -

"Having viewed the photographic evidence myself it will not assist
you as this is taken from the rear of the vehicle and provides no
indication of the driver. The Road Traffic Act states that companies
have a duty to keep accurate driver records to identify the driver at
any given time. If you have failed to comply, this will result in the
registered keeper/Company Secretary being held responsible for the
    offence."

Should we hold out for the photo or point the finger? ;)
    Cheers

This happened where I work and I think they had to snitch the guy up as
there's a duty to maintain a log of who's driving at the time for
    company cars apparently.

No it's not a question of an individual being held liable, the company cops
it and pays the fine. Avoiding the points is the issue is it not! Sorted.
Tell them there is a log but no entry for that time if they ask. ****'em.

If you know who it it you should say, if not then by law you still have
to give details of all the drivers names that may have been using the
car at the time, even if you don't know exactly who it was.

It is then the responsibility of the police to prove (without any
    reasonable doubt) exactly whodunnit.

Company Secretary! **** him, **** 'im right in the ring piece.
Nowt worse than little company people who get above themselves....unless
your FD doubles up in which case taking the points yourself might be a
    career move.

Can't you get some OAP with a valid licence, who does not drive any
more, to take the points in exchange for some Whiskas?

Unfortunately, my mum was not able to renew her licence on her 73rd
birthday for medical reasons. Suppose I'll have to take the next points.
