    I'm in.
Make a rough estimate of the number of bricks, then ring around your
local "Architectural Antiques" yards - they may even come and collect
them, not to mention giving you money for them.

The wheelbarow was what helped my species to walk on their hind legs. Sign

I find barrowing bricks far easier when the wheelbarrow says 'Ford
P100' on it. Best VFM vehicle I've ever bought, that. It's done
numerous dump runs, trundled stuff around the garden, & been taken up
to ramming speed to 'encourage' a few stubborn barn walls to give up.
    Safety nazi.

    <googles>

I lie - 6%, and is available in bottle conditioned form.
Good idea. I think I will take a sample in to one and see if they are
interested. I've got a 'cold frame' that's also constructed of the same
bricks without any mortar. That is also going to be dismantled to make
    room for interim storage.

Having said that, it won't happen until after the dreaded school
admission envelope(s) drops on the mat in about three weeks time. If the
first one says the lad has been accepted at a Thomas Telford City
Technology College a house move is almost certain and the demolition
    will be off the agenda.

I will be making a decision on the viability of this project in early
March and will give your CV due consideration.

Unfortunately, to get a pickup in reach of the greenhouse would mean
    demolishing my garage.
It was the safety of other structures I was concerned about, not
    personnel.

Thanks. I might even have the Nordie and two GFRs on the road, so a SOIB
CIHAGM fest might also be on the cards.

A plan, with suggested dates, may crystallise next month.

  9. What? Seems a bit extreme when the traditional route is finding digs for

    In communiqué <>, Grimly
This 'College' is a secondary school. Whilst he an increasingly
independent 11 year old, with a mind of his own, we don't think he is
quite ready to leave home yet. If he gets a place (selection is separate
from the usual LEA procedure and it is oversubscribed 10:1) he can get
there from here by school bus, but we would probably use it as an
    impetus to move to Shropshire.

Sounds like the 'ramming speed' option would take care of demolishing
    the garage for you.

Beer and knocking down - it gets better and better.

    Whereabouts are you roughly?

West Midlands. This is turning in to one of those school arithmetic
    problems.

If it takes one sober man X days to knock down a greenhouse how many
hours will it take Y drunken UKRMers.

The answer is probably between 1 and infinity.

Seal the missing windows with bin liners and duct tape.
Light a candle in the greenhouse.
Turn on calor gas cylinder and shut door.
Retire to other end of garden to drink beer.

Shame - I'll never get a pass from SWMBO unless it *does* involve
knocking down the garage, the calor gas option, or both.

  17. Would it help if I tell you that I'm considering buying a house on
five acres with a three-car attached garage, and an eight car detached
garage (with pukka flooring, air-lines, benches and shelves)? Oh, and
    it's 225k sterling.

Less available than before, to be honest. We just got back from a
wedding in South Africa (not ours). Lots of fun.
