I'd been tracking this trike on eBay
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4572149544
more out of curiosity than real interest, and just happened to be logged-in
with 20 minutes of the auction to run.

At 4 minutes to go, I switched back to the browser window to find that the
only bid, for £850, had disappeared!

The bid history shows is was withdrawn as "bidder given back word".

    - what the hell does "bidder given back word " mean?
    - I thought you couldn't withdraw a bid in the last 24 hours except under
    "exceptional circumstances"
    - is this even more dodgy than the vehicle?

    Experienced ebayer views welcome.

I'd been tracking this trike on eBay
    Very odd piece of kit!

If you are still interested why not ask the seller if it's still for sale.
Looks like it may have been pulled as an outside offer was received maybe.

He also says it can be driven on a provisional but only a car one now.

Could be he was shill bidding his own auction & if he was the winning
bidder he would have had to pay the fees on it. As he canceled the bid
then all he pays is the listing fee.

That's what I was thinking but doesn't eBay have controls in place to stop
    this sort of thing?

How come he was allowed to cancel the bid?
