I can't think of any reason why they shouldn't. Adie added me to her
policy when it became clear how slow the NHS were going to be and
within two weeks I was booked in for the op.

Sounds a bit more like Andy than me, actually. Which bones did you
    break?
As Andy says, I see absolutely no reason why not.

Metacarpal for the index finger (2nd?) - compression fracture just
    behind the head.
I shall look into it, then. Ta to you both.

uh huh. I did that one, and the middle & ring fingers too. The index
finger was proper messy, so had a plate in it from day one. The other
two were 'simple; breaks, so had no metal in them - unfortunately,
they both mended at an angle, partly due at lest to me propelling
myself around by wheelchair, I suspect...

Anyway - you will always have some sort of lump on the back of the
hand - this is 'normal' callous (sp?) from where the bone mends. And,
it is likely to be slightly shorter too (the index finger I broke on
my left hand 28 years ago is like this). So the quacks may take the
view that there's not much improvement to be had. But you should
    definitelt get an opinion.

  6. It's called arthritis. I can't (haven't been able to for ages) put my
right hand flat on the desk palm-down because of the changes to the
    knuckles caused by psoriatic arthritis.

C has them on her finger-joints too - in her case just generic
    arthritis.
