The most annoying thing about the whole incident is that I knew I shouldn't
have tried to overtake where I did. I assumed that he was going slow because
he'd just come out of a driveway and we had a red light about 100 metres
further down, where I was going to turn right. Unfortunately he was turning
at the intersection before that one. I normally wouldn't even overtake
somewhere like that in case someone turns left out of the intersection.
Looking at the scratches on the road I hadn't even got onto the other side.
I must have just started to pull out and had the bike leaned over when I hit
    the brakes.
I did hit the car by the way, put a small dent in his fuel tank, so I don't
know if I would have been able to avoid him or not.
Boy am I stiff and sore this morning. I'm usually just stiff on a Saturday
    morning

    Stiff and sore is good.

It is an indication that you are still alive.

  3. oh yeah, I can relate to that... I had seemingly the same accident...
stupid mistake of mine but hey, thankfully we both got to live and learn.

It was raining, I overtook a van that was -crawling- along a long wide road
in Wollongongs industrial section (past the train station heading to
coniston), he turned right just as I overtook... damn... clipped my
indicator and I cartwheel to a halt upside down with my arse on the window
facing some poor receptionist in the nearby shop.... yep. thats another
    lesson learnt...

Poor bike, has to put up with me being stupid... I try to think ahead more
now... sometimes I have off days and I think just by knowing when I'm
'feeling' right about riding, I can work out when to be extra cautious v's
feeling 'with it' enough to be normal. (man that made no sense with my
wording - sorry - hope you can understand it)

In his fuel tank? Sheesh, you must have hit him pretty
    hard! (or made a typo!)

Too much information error. Core dumped.

    Erk!
Yeah; you think "Gee I got away without injuring myself...." until the next
    morning!
    Oh well; it's "character building"!
