Fair play to Mr Capirossi, I went over the bars of the mtb quite
spectacularly today and whacked a couple of ribs pretty hard on a
tree[1]. Only bruised but the amount of pain when I pick something up
is something else. How that chap managed to race his bike I don't
    know.

[1] On the up side, the tree did stop me going off a cliff.

    Mr Capirossi is something special.

But let's hear it for the tree, good that you're just battered and
    bruised.

    Not kidding.
It's funny, 100 metres prior up the trail I was thinking "this would
not be a good place to crash".

    Me or him?

Me, yes, as I put at the beginning of the post "over the bars of the
mtb". Was riding at Coed-y-Brenin forest in Wales and a couple of the
    sections are bloody lethal.

  6. A big tree or a little tree? Did it survive the impact?
    Large amounts of money?
    Eek. Careful out there.

Medium sized, about half a foot in diameter.
Was a bit of comedy moment. You know how in action films whenever the
hero falls from a building or off a cliff or summat he alway grabs
something at the last minute? This was exactly like that. Went over
the bars, hit the tree, then the ground, then saw the ground falling
away and thought I better grab summat quick. So I grabbed the
    offending tree.
