The leathers shouldn't come as surprise to you. I was wearing them at
Cadwell in 2006 when I passed you (as your brakes failed) remember ?
Can't disagree. Still can't work out what that NHCA is, other than
    guessing Nice Hockey Club Arena.

    I remember the leathers - I don't remember my brakes failing...I did
run out of petrol: is that what you're thinking of?

So see. I knew there had to be a logical explanation. Not that I
remember the incident. Your bike and leathers were clearly not so
    memorable.

I blame watching Nigel Boocock too much at an impressionable age. No,
    neither of those Nigels, JFGI.

No, to be able to enter french roadrace championship (Championnat de
France des Rallyes routiers) it must be road legal.

Despite this rule, every road racing outfit is derestricted so not road
    legal in France. :)

    This one is a Choda.
Choda is a one person business (Albert Choin and his wife) established in
    south Gironde, near Langon.

He is specialized in hand-made sport/GT-sport and rally-raid outfits with
a strong preference for big inline four (Hayabusa, ZX12-R). He produces
also specialized outfits for pilots with a handicap and can accomodate
various solutions such as handbrakes, reverse gear, pneumatic assisted
    brakes, electric assisted/automatic clutch, etc.

He is well known in France for the quality of his work.

So this outfit is a road one, not a full kneeler but the monkey can moved
a lot, has several handrails to grasp, etc.

Can he make sidecars that fit on the left, are road legal in the UK,
are very lightweight and easily detachable?

I'm thinking something that's essentially just a frame an aluminium
box could be fitted to that would fit to maybe a KTM 690?

Obviously the weakness of the GBP to the Euro would **** the price up
a bit but for something that would last a few years and be
substantially cheaper than buying a complete outfit the original price
    would become less important.

If you need someone to go and discuss some points with him after initial
contact, I could do it: I live in Gironde, not too far away (70/80 km to
the north, near Saint-Emilion). I have already met him 6 or 7 years ago
when a friend with a mobility problem had an outfit made for his Guzzi
    V11 Sport.

Don't be surprised if it seems "cold" or grumpy, he is a "taiseaux" with
a strong personnality and a low acceptance for bullshit.
He is a really nice guy with a passion for his work

You really should organise some sort of fest.

At the very least, invite me to stay for a week or two...

A visit of some Châteaux and Coopératives de Producteurs?

    Could be pricey:

Château Franc Lafleur (0.5 km from my home):

Château Planquette, a Médoc produced by a friend (an other Guzzisti)
    http://vinature.skynetblogs.be/post/4456797/un-ovni-a-bordeaux-le-chateau-
    planquette

My home is in Castillon la Bataille, wich is an AOC situated between
    Bergerac/Monbazillac and Saint-Emilion AOC zones.

If you like red wines it could be a perfect vacation, you'll find in a 30
km radius Saint-Emilion, Pomerol, Lussac, Côtes-de-Castillon, Bergerac,
Côtes-de-Duras. A little farther (60/80 km), Cotes de Blaye, Bourg, Médoc
    & Haut-Médoc, Margaux, Saint-Julien, Saint-Estèphe, Barsac, Loupiac,
    Sauternes, Graves, Pessac-Leognan, etc.

There is also a bio brewery at Villefranche du Périgord (20 km) with
unpasteurized beers "A l'ancienne" that are nice.

To the East, the Périgord... ;)

Make it April to coincide with the 'Grappe de Cyrano':
    http://www.grappedecyrano.com/

We just missed it on one of our trips 5 years ago. Quite a few of the
competitors were staying on the Camping Muicipale and were packing up as
    we arrived.
