That old friend of mine called me from Houston and told me that
he was on his way.. That was good news.. Haven't seen Jerry for
a while and although we talk frequently, nothing is better than a good
    face to face visit..

He rolled in between two and three o'clock PM and as usual, that
tricked out Valk looked like he'd just come from the car wash instead
of more than a two hundred mile run.. hmmm.. I don't know how he
    does that, lol..

We did the catching up thing and talked about all our mutual friends
on and off this newsgroup.. The Mexican finally made it home and she
came with a load of KFC that she'd picked up on the way.. We un-
wrapped all the stuff that came with those Gucci air horns, checked
all of it out to make sure everything was included.. You can be sure, if
it hadn't already got dark, Jerry would have been installing all that doins.

The Mexican played hooky from work and hit the floor, working on one
of her breakfast deals.. It was necessary for her to make a run to her
favorite fresh produce place, to get the fruit that she wanted.. While
all this was goind on, I called RedShad and insisted that he get over
to LaCasa.. woke that son of a gun up.. I did.. Wasn't long before he
rolled up on that Gucci Wing that he rides, and me, him and Jerry did
the natural thing for old bikers.. we checked out all the new sparklies
and I cranked up the Green One, just to make sure it wasn't seized up..

The Mexican had outdone herself and that breakfast was up to her
    usual standards of excellence..

My two good friends already had started getting twitchy and I could
tell they wanted to air those bikes out for a while.. RedShad rounded
up Gary Walker and they arranged a meetup at Kellers'.. Everyone in
the loop knows, Kellers is the favorite hangout for Gary and Big Ed..
It's close to their houses and I gotta admit, Kellers makes the best
damned hamburghers around.. hmmm.. I usually order mine with a
side order of grease.. I kinda like that greasy feeling of the juice runn-
ing down to my elbows when I eat a good hamburgher..

The boys finally got underway, and bad as I hated to see them go, I
sure was glad to see them out enjoying the great day and those fine
rides.. Damn.. I wanted to go with them, so bad.. I found out later that
the Mexican took the day off to make sure that I didn't do exactly that..
That little wench is really conniving, isn't she .. lol.

I can guarantee, those boys had them a good day.. mines' coming
    soon..

Good to see you're up and around. We're waiting for
you to get better so your body can digest another Kel-
    ler's hamburger.

After talking Valkyries with Jerry, he pointed out some
issues with mine that seemed to result from my last
dealer visit for a tune. I came home, sent the dealer an
email explaining these issues, and took the bike back
today for clarification. I hope it'll be ready soon.

While there, I always take some time to shuffle around
and look at all the used bikes for sale. There's a real
nice guy there(I think his name is Gary) that always
visits with me, even though he knows I'm just passin'
    time.

They had one of those CBR1000's that we talked a lot
about. I gotta' admit, it seems like it would be fun just
to ride that bike around for a week or two. This is one
of the bikes he claims will do 100mph in first gear.

Not that runnin' 100mph in 1st gear seems enticing to me,
but I think it would be a lot of fun just cruise around on.

When Redshad, Jerry and I went to the Suzuki/Kawasaki
store so Jerry could look at a Bandit, they didn't have
    one.

    While there we saw:
    http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products/GSX1300BKK8

I didn't know what it was, and immediately dubbed it the
"Suzuki VMAX" because of those twin air inductors
mounted on either side of the tank. After reading about
this new BKing, I just don't see a lot of difference betw-
    een it and the Bandit.
    http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products/GSF1250SK8

Except the BKing is about 4K more expensive. I'll bet
the Bandit is planned to be superseded by the BKing.

One thing about the BKing, it looks like a new owner
had better be satisfied with the factory exhaust system,
because it's quite integrated into the bike's design/build.

The entire bike looked kinda' George Jetson like to me,
or like something I would've seen in Road Warrior.

Today's motorcycles, and their associated technological
    changes/advances certainly are exciting.

to find where my American counterpart is... <grumble>

Time to get hoppin', Bill. That 'Live to Flame, Flame to Live' crew
is just running riot over there and I can't control 'em all by myself!
