Spam is generally considered to be unsolicited. This time around though it was asked for, and
promptly given. It was on topic and very relevant.

So what if the people spruking the companies are involved with them? For ****'s sake grow up Jase.

    Jase's words......

"its seems Joe from underdog doesn't like people disagreeing with him
about promotion of a business in a newsgroup that normally discourages
    it."

The first post from jase could be seen as a jest. But the above followup comment shows jase to be a
tad more serious than you had assumed John. :-/

I think someone needled and someone bit to be honest, well that how it looks
    from the sidelines

    JL
(holding up a "6" - fair, an amount of personal invective but a bit weak on the
    name calling, could do better)

  9. With the cost of the airfare, travelling to/from the airport, food and
i made mine from a big 'ol buffalo i found as roadkill in the territory
didn't cost nuffin but some twine and salt
looks a bit rough but you can't see where i have crashed in it
the leather must be 5 mm thick and after wearing it for 6 yrs now, i can
mostly bend me arms and legs and the smell is almost gone

    "jase"wrote
jase.. you're going to realize that the phrase "f*** off spammer b*tch" [1]
was used initially (and mostly) in good, or bad, humour, and that taking it
this far is really, honestly, quite pointless and will only leave you
looking silly.. I'd suggest not wasting so much energy on something that is
as fickle as the internet and focus it one something more productive...
like.. say.. shooting foxes or fishing for carp..

  16. 1. If there's someone on here who still doesn't know I work with Joe, they
must've been living in the same adobe hut as you for the past month.

    2. I'm the rep for the ACT and surrounding region. Dazza's in Sydney,
meaning I don't really have a stake in whether he buys a set of Underdog
leathers or not. If he does, it'll be the Sydney rep who'll be able to
afford the oil change for his bike, not me.

    3. As the originator of "**** off, spammer bitch", I reserve the right to
gauge when it can be brought to bear, and giving invited heads-ups about a
product which does the same job equally well as products twice their price
doesn't qualify. The battlecry can only apply if:
-the mention of a product or service is unsolicited.
-said product is a blatant ripoff, such as an overly-expensive 2nd hand
bike, painfully frivolous, like flush-mount indicators or iridium screens,
or completely orthogonal to ausmoto (even those digital cameras from the
other day don't really qualify there; digital cameras can be used to
photograph bikes. That post deserves scorn for being unsolicited and for
    advertising a ripoff).

    4. If you're going to lay into me for giving props to Joe's operation, maybe
you should admit you and Joe don't get along.

    Question my integrity, ya pissant.

  17. Are you just taking the piss, or have Alpine* really shifted their operation
    to Bosnia?
On the one hand it would make sense, since seeing how us Cros have been
getting autobahns 'n' shit of late, the price of labour could only have gone
    up.
(I'm asking 'cause you in the trade 'n' all; I just have the tag on my
two-year-old SM-X's, which sez "Made in Croatia, faken" to go off of)

the battle cry has also been utilised many times on the grounds

    - "I felt like it"
    - "I wanted to irritate the poster"
    - "it seemed like a good idea at the time"

And in fact has about as much sting as informing Nev that he's a **** wit

    ****, I'm sorry I asked!

Thanks for the suggestions - and no, I don't give a toss if the
person making the suggestion has a vested interest in selling me
something - I wanted options, don't care where they come from.

although from yours and other responses it seems to be well known that Joe
and I don't get along although I wasn't aware that we didn't. What does give
me the irrits is when someone offers/recommends something without mentioning
that they are connected with the company or service they are recommending,
if you feel me bringing that up was questioning your integrity then so be
    it.
