Well I was taking in the piss insofar as I didn't really fly to Bosnia
    and suckerpunch any old ladies.

Conversely, I was serious about Alpinestars operations in Bosnia
Herzegovina. I'm pretty sure they have operations in China, Bosnia
Herzegovina, Croatia and Isle of Man.

My alpinestars jacket is made in "Bosnia and Hercegovina". My a* track
pants are made in China (i think). My smx+ are made in "Croazia".

So to conclude, they didn't so much move their operations to Bosnia as
much as they were already there.

Then again, Merkins are stupid. For all I know they could be using
    CroaZia and Bosnia interchangably.

  2. Where do Merkins come into this? Alpinestars is an Italian company.
(now it's probably gonna turn out you thought Joe Rocket were American, too
    :)

Where do Merkins come into it? I always kind of assumed that their
marketing arm was in the US like almost all their product development
stuff. Who is responsible for the wording of the "Made In" tag?

In retrospect "Croazia" is the Italian spelling so they probably get the
materials developed in California and the product gets designed in Asolo.

Although, different stuff probably gets designed/researched/made
    wherever is most convenient.

    In conclusion, who fucking knows?

Oh, and we're apparently going to start dealing in Joe Rocket stuff
    soon. mmm corona replica leathers.....

from DBT in Yagoona is _way_ more than I want to spend at $1400 for a jacket.

you would have shit for brains to pay $1400 for a jacket on its own!

If you have no luck, I'll see if Don Pollard is still makin leathers
in Cronulla, he even made em for Corser, and some other big names.. :D

This is why I have come to the fount of all knowledge and asked for
    better suggestions. :)
I suspect the links I've been given will result in something considerably
    closer to my budget. Thanks.

They use most countries interchangeably, eg:

"Saudi and Syrian and Yemeni terrists give us the shits.
Let's **** Afghanistan up again and get rid of Sodom Hoooosayn, then
    everythang will be orlright.
Now, all we have to do is find some fuckwits stupid enough to support us.
Get Tony and John on the line".

I gotta say my experience of DBT was somewhat equivocal. Walden Miller's service
    was heaps better.

Dazza they have a website - get your missus to measure you up as per the
instructions on the site and send them the details, the custom jacket they did
    me was quite good.

(Just for the record; I've always thought Joe Underdog was a weasel who
exhibits none of the character-traits that I associate with being a
"motorcyclist". I also think that making "recommendations" which are
actually endorsing a product from which you're making money, without a
disclaimer, is using our "community" for dishonest personal gain and a is
low act so I'm with my hut-mate Jase on that one.
Now; how many of Joe's supporters can come out and declare their
    (non)interests?)
