Oversized leathers?

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Intact Kneeslider, Mar 1, 2004.

  1. Even so... "weasel"? Bit strong, isn't it? Critique away, but don't start
with the foaming at the mouth straight off the bat, as Jase did, or with the
    epithets.

Like I said, all would've been Cool&the Gang had you just posted the links
to those two examples of what you felt was questionable conduct on Joe's
part (which, again, don't quite read like much of a hanging offence)...
we've been on here long enough. We should all know how to argue a point, or
    make an accusation.

Haven't I defended you in the past when people have gone off half- or
    quarter-cocked at you?

Next time a noob's asking about protective gear, they'll get an explicit
    disclaimer.
(remember, on this occasion, we had two threads on leather gear going
together, and the first mention of Underdog in either was made by Smee, who
mentioned that the company's run by an ausmotean, and that kicked off a
considerable amount of banter which would've put the matter beyond question
by the time this thread kicked up)

  2. Cheap and inexpensive are two terms I thought you would be able to use, non
    synonymously......

It'll take them longer than the 90's, in that case.....
You don¹t state that. You need to do better if you wish for noobs (sic) to
understand where you are coming from.
You were unharmed (cf no leathers)? They did their job, period.
Don¹t pitch it at me, pitch it to those you want to get on side.
Habit? Hmmm, room of mirrors for IK? You have made some less than on the
pulse comments, but who hasn't? If you hold yourself up for inspection,
expected to be knocked down. I don¹t believe I need to point that out to
    you. At the moment, well.......
    Ok, based on what?
Is this beneficial? You are sounding like a Bike mag....
Is this important? If so, why? Isn't solid neck leather going to iritate
me? What extra protection will it serve? Does each suit therefore need to
be customised in order to offer this "advantage"?
Really? Based on what? Its all CE approved? You have refereed articles to
prove this? Scapula injuries aren't going to be a major indicator of a
crash and suggesting that leathers will protect you in this regard is
    ignorant.

    I'm quickly agreeing with Clem......
Only to those that "need" to live in the "real" world....[1]
So, you've crashed in them already? If not, how can you vouch for their
quality? You had them for the same period of time too?.....
You stand to make money selling them. That¹s a big obstacle for you see
    past, obviously.

[1] do I really need to point this out?

I said "he's done it a few times"
You said "I searched you are wrong" (Then you made a few smart-arsed
comments about my attitude and my history while I bit my tongue).
    I proved I was right.
Now you, instead of being a FUCKING MAN and admitting it, act like a total
weak-as-piss piece of snivelling shit and try and weasel your way out.
No fucking wonder you get on with Joe so well!

    That's it; I'm out.

Well.. it won't be the first time he's been convinced someone's said
something many times and been utterly mistaken.

I think you'll find it's "teh intarweb", not "an
intarweb". Can't remember the name of the guy who
came up with it - a well known net.kook. If you
weren't there, you wouldn't get it.

I said "he's done it a few times"
is it just me or is there a stupid amount of infighting and pissing about now-a-days?
never seemed to be this bad before.

    Yup! It's great, innit! :)

You wanna perceive infighting and pissing about where
there is none, begone to GRO (Girls Ride Out) with you!

Besides, if it wasn't for infighting and pissing about,
what would we do - sit on our hands until harsh week is
    over?

<shrug> Australian made from australian leather vs pakistan made from ???, I
know which I'd choose but you're welcome to call me parochial - it wouldn't be
    the first time

    and pissing about now-a-days?
Depends on which way the wind blows.
Uhm pass (not that there is anything WRONG with girls on motorbikes, don't get me wrong there!)
There is a difference between calling each other fuckwits and taunting them about their letterboxes
Then there is the "kiwipete"ing of issues, forgive me for saying but the instant it becomes a personal
vandetta, i think it should immediately go to email so the bullshit can be sorted out.

And one last thing, nothing against jase, but i didn't know what was said on the irc chat logs, nor did
i bleeding well have to dig through it all going "wtf?". oh i know, "threadplonk", but still, you get my point
    :)
I'm going to do a rove and go "what the?", (don't explain, i jus cant be bothered thinking that hard about what it means ;-) )

I had a look under our dog. There's not a lot of skin there - you'd need a
lot of dogs unders to make a set of leathers.

  19. Whew! At least you're not an architect, then. :)
I didn't religiously read that particular thread - not since it
degenerated into something that should've perhaps been taken to email.

but I DID read SOME of it - and I reckon that in several years there
are some gems that people will look back on, laugh and reminisce.
There's some pearlers in there. A psychologists would have a ball. :)
