Enter the Dragon? Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon?

About the only ones I've enjoyed, then again I haven't exactly explored the
    genre.

Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed most of the ones I've seen, the
choreographed fight scenes are amazing. I just don't think they're
    very good.

The only ones where I've felt the fighting has had any degree of
realism are done by Steven Segal but the films themselves are dire.

Tony Jaa is amazing. His live demos are worth a watch too.

It did come to mind as I was typing. It's a very dark and brutal
almost ugly film but the actual fight scenes bear no more resemblance
to boxing than the Rocky films.

.... I'm going to watch it again.

  7. Not a film as such, but the martial arts spoof in Kentucky Fried Movie
    was pretty good.

    By *such* a long way.
    Indeed, although I like

    Road House
    By The Sword
Mr Vampire (but silly again, and Jacki Chan)
Blood Sport (so carp it's good)
Prodigal Son and Warriors Two. Not exactly common place, and very much
look like home made, but that's a product of their time (TBH so was a
    lot of Enter The Dragon)

That's a good call although I wouldn't put it under the heading of a
    martial arts film.

On a similar note I like the fight scenes in the Bourne movies with
the added bonus that the films themselves are rather good too.

Well yes, but they're funny actors! I'm off to get a 10 pint knockout,
so any further posts should be taken with a bit of salt.
