What's all this bollocks about energy required to start a bike leaning
and more energy to stop it?

The significant thing about CoG height is that a bike with a higher CoG
leans less than a bike with a lower CoG on the same curve.
The line between CoG and centre of tyre contact patch has the same angle
    for both bikes.

You mean that the bars are shorter overall on the 10?

Well, my experience of modern sports bikes is rather limited, but I do
get the impression that they're getting taller.

I'm not sure about the quicker steering: wouldn't that mean a larger
arc for the combined C of G to swing through - though the smaller lean
    angles might mitigate that.

The only reason I can see for a smaller lean angle, though, is because
the movement of the contact patches of the tyres becomes less
    significant with a higher C of G.

If one does the parallelogram of forces thing then the height has no
effect at all on the lean angle without allowing for the contact
patch, unless there's some other factor that I haven't thought of.
    Which is entirely possible.

Bike did this a couple of months ago. I got the impression from the
graphs that bikes were getting bigger.

LOL... didn't realise you got that good a view of it, given you were on a
    much slower bike. :p

But aye, that's the one... scared the shit out of me, it did. :)

This is where you lose me. The pivot point is the contact patch, yes? Then
the higher the mass is kept, the further away from the pivot point it is.
    **** off, you lanky ****.

No, it's the centre of the circle of which you're riding on the
    circumference.
So it's the opposite of that.
