What tyres have you tried ?

My dad changed his rear recently from a Michelin Macadam to an Avon
AV46-ST. I rode it yesterday and it feels totally different and not
entirely confidence inspiring. It could be that because the tyre is new
and a rounder profile but the front felt a bit shaky to me. I guess it
could also be because I'm used to riding the Gixer which is a wee bit
more planted at the front :)

    Cheers

Try an aged, bald, near-flat Cheng Shin. In appearance much like Mao
    near the end.

Badly word Excedera? Scared the hell out of me on my GPZ when I'd just
passed my test. My bike instructor said 'get rid of those god awful
tyres before you do anything else' :)

I have a Michelin Macadam rear (Conti. front) on my Guzzi. Not really
considered it a problem, other than when it's at 2mm [1] it whitelines a
little alarmingly. Is this the same type of Macadam that you're on about?

I've heard skinny Bridgestones (120/90-18) are good. I've not tried
    them, opinions?

    [1] which it is atm

Thank Christ I only had one on the back. If i'd had one on the front
as well it'd have been down the road more than once :(

    Cheers,

Badger fascinated us all by saying...
I'd find a new tyre dealer if I were you cos this one talks shite. The
AV45/46STs are Avons *latest* sports touring tyre.

    I got a pair of D207 today. 160ukp fitted.

They're black and round, would you believe.

I paid 170ukp for a pair of AV45/46STs fitted to the bike, not loose
    wheels.
    Ooh, same as mine.

Wrong way round. I *own* one, but I don't have access to one. So I'm
the opposite of a pikey, surely.
