Paging anyone with Ventura luggage...

For some reason, we've decided to go on holiday this summer on two bikes
    that can't take panniers. D'oh.

The ideal solution seems to be two complete sets of Ventura luggage, but
we'll need L-brackets, pack-rack and luggage for each bike, which
comes to about £230 per bike.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that eBay will provide the luggage and
pack-racks, but if it doesn't: has anyone got some Ventura luggage and a
PF18/B or PF12/B pack-rack that we could borrow for a couple of weeks in
    July?

I have a couple of Ventura luggage bags you can borrow, but not the
    rack itself.

Oh, yeah, I remember: you had the full kit, but the pack-racks were the
    wrong size.

Which bags have you got? I could potentially make you an offer, if you
still want to get rid of them.

the slightly older equivalent of the Aero-Spada and Aero-Delta on
    here:

    http://www.ventura-bike.co.uk/products/pack_system/packs.htm

actually, 1/2 way down with the caption "The packs can simply be
zipped together or used separately. (Picture features older style Aero-
Packs." is a picture that looks identical to what I've got.
    go on then.

I have a rack you can have, but damned if I can remember what one is
was. It was an ebay 'error'.

Been there, done that, need to punt it back out on eBay. This was just
before I realised that the racks came in different sizes.

I think they have a sticker on that identifies the model; any chance
    yours has still got that?

Hmmm... any idea how big they are? I think I've seen something that
suggests they're 45L each, or about the size of a pair of normal-ish
    soft panniers. Sound about right?
Gah, I hate being put on the spot like that. Fifty quid, including
delivery? Or drop 'em off at the pub if you're going to the BoSM.

one's bigger than the other, but I'd say the overall capacity is
similar (or slightly more than) a pair of standard throwovers.
oh, that sounds a little low - I'll think about it (I'm in a "doing
well on eBay auctions" tip at the moment, so reluctant to provide
    bargains).

Ah, I was under the impression that they were a matching pair.
It probably is, but I'm not sure they're big enough for us anyway.
Sure, no problem. I'll look out for them on eBay.

well, they are a "matching pair" insofar as they're intended to zip
together. They just aren't the same size.
I might sling 'em on later, and see what happens. The vintage synth
that I was expecting to get around £300 for has just sold for £430, so
I'm still in the "eBay mood".

Cool. I wish I was having the same luck, there doesn't seem to be much
call for GSX600F parts. Maybe I'm just not doing it right.

The two that have exhausts in an inconvenient location.
Yeah, I've thought about getting a couple of those big waterproof roll
bags[0], but we also need to carry a tent and camping stools, and
neither of the bikes are particularly easy to strap stuff on, so we'd
need a rack anyway... hence the Ventura stuff.

Come to think of it, a standard rack and a dry bag would probably do the
trick... but Renntec don't make racks for either of those bikes, so
    we're back to Ventura again...
