I can't find the bastards, I'm pretty sure they're actually *hiding* from
    me.

Can anyone supply a phone number for a responsible adult down there so I
    can spoil their games?

I think I can be emailed at psych_9_9 at yahoo.com

Well what's the reason? I'm not much fussed. Champ misses out on pictures
and I had a LOVELY ride over the cat an fiddle when I got lost on the way
    back.

They didn't tell you for a reason, you know....

If you actually found the pub and it was a bit like the Marie Celeste
that would be because they have gone out for a ride. Some on Wessie's
    route, perhaps some not.

Or did you not even find the pub?

I *think* I found the pub, although my directions taped to the tank didn't
quite seem to match reality. The pub was yellow, not white like it is on
the picture on the internet, and it had a Ferrari outside which didn't
seem in keeping with UKRM :eek:P

I've checked since my return, and I'm sure I was looking at this years
info, especially as it seems the same as last years. Just the pub *I*
found was painted and full of polite people rather than white and full of
    UKRM.

I suppose I should have been a little less shy, and just hung around. But
I don't half feel daft worrying if I'm being stood up in the wrong pub
whilst dressed like two halves of a cow zipped together.

I can always lob my satnav in the car and go and get properly laughed at
later on when they're in more of a drinking mood. I'm not biking back down
    though, I'm shattered.

I think it's the Black Horse Inn.

It was still white in May. TBF I would have expected one or two to be
hanging round on the car park.
Try Mu at the pub. You have got the right pub in the right place?
Mr Auvache is accurate enough with his location details.
Black Horse, Hulland, Ward A517 Ashbourne to Belper road IIRC

The little sky pictures on google maps of DE6 3EE look exactly like where
I was standing a couple of hours ago. Whether that's the place people were
supposed to be is another matter :p

It is just before the NSL sign (no comment). The clincher is the
triangle of green on the junction. The snoring campers area.

I think when I first went there I have a vague recollection of passing
another pub on the right before I got to the Black Horse (coming from
Ashbourne that is). That wasn't just after a fork off the main road to
the right though. Can't remember if it was yellow either (if it existed
at all, though Google Earth shows something that could be a pub).

    <stops whittering>

    Nil desperandum.

Take the pub phone number with you (assuming you have a mobile) and Mu
may be able to pass the phone to Lady Nina or someone who is not already
    rat-arsed to talk you down.

Ah, my usual not drinking thing sort of fell apart a bit. Well, a lot
really. I *think* cat was very nice, from my vague memories I may have
mumbled incoherently at her, I'm not entirely sure.

If you're who I'm pretty sure you are, you were lovely. Like everyone who
wasn't Nick. I'm sure he's lovely too, but I didn't get a chance to get to
know him as *him*. I *am* very nice, promise.

Did he? You must've caught a fleeting coherent moment. The odd snippets of
intelligible conversation, synthesised with the very demonstrative non
verbal communication, allude to a confused identity. Although, on the other
hand, his demonstrative behaviour might just be the norm for a group of
blokes, drinking yellow piss water, south of the equator...

I'm the one who passed you the phone that had Champ on the other end
of it. Fresh from his birthday present.
    He's utterly adorable.
    That's all right then.

Then you are who I think you are and the world is alright.
I did wonder; did you throw Champ at me because you thought it'd be funny
or did he ask to speak to me?
    He looks adorable.

    Glad she made it.
Just as well I didn't try to combine EOSM with Wiscombe. A lurgy type
thing hit me lunchtime Saturday and despite massive two hourly doses of
echinacea left me feeling quite off this morning and requiring ibuprofen
to feel well enough to launch the Tart up the hill at all.

The world is fuzzy here. Time for bed soon.
Um, I've been drunk since then. I was phoning him for my own nefarious
porpoises (to take the piss) and passed the phone as you were in range
at the time. I don't really do the thinking about reasons for or
consequences of actions thing, it would spoil everyone else's
    amusement and bemusement.
