True, but if I'd wanted strange anodised blue bits on my Kawasaki
in The One True Colour For Kawasakis. I'd have asked for them.

    I could be the SGGT.

That would certainly surprise the wife.

So what do you reckon to the PFM callipers then Loz as you have the pads
    and discs now.

Better than the APdiscs/EBC race pads combo. More feel from them, but no
loss of braking power. They are easier to control than the previous
setup, but stop you just as quick. The Performance Friction pads and the
iron discs leave a load of black dust on the front wheel in a very short
    time though.

It's a fashion thing. 6 pots are shit this year but next year
something else will be more worthy of the abuse.

I believe I have the same (Tokicos?) fitted to my B12. They work, but
I don't have the same confidence in them that I had in the sliding
calliper 2-pot Nissins (with EBC HH pads) that were on my old B6,
believe it or not. AIUI, theoretically the 6-pots should be awesome.
    Why the hell aren't they?

They are just like that. They don't have much bite, they fade and they
seize after the first wash of the bike. They look impressive though.

With my Gixer you start using 2 fingers on the outer end of the lever
and work your way down to 1 very light finger at the inside end of the
lever by the time you're at the other end of MK.
4-pot Tokicos are fine on the right bike, but their 6 pots are terrible.

I've had another ZX10R owner tell me that the brakes fitted as
standard are crap and should be changed as soon as you take delivery
but tests say different as does experience. Personally as long as they
    work I don't give a flying ****.

The only problem I had with my 9R was when I put AP pads in as
replacements for the originals and warped a disc fairly quickly. A
quick change to EBC discs (1) sorted that out and the only other
problem I had was Ferodo pads (2) which I soon solved by going back to
EBC HH pads. No lack of feel or bite and they worked well even after
I'd changed the fluid when the bike was 4 years old.

I've seen a lot of Suzukis and Kawasakis on race circuits using the
same old 6 pots without any obvious problems but that could be
attributed to regular stripping and servicing.

    (1) Cheaper than standard.

    (2) I fitted Ferodo so called race compound pads after a dealer told
me he wouldn't stock EBC HH because they were rubbish. The Ferodo pads
were so bad that I changed them after about 1000 miles. In the wet
they were a fucking liability, no brakes at first and then lock up.
