Can you explain to me why I've been billed (at work) for two tickets to
Milan in my name, on the 30th June? Can you also explain why one is for
the amount of just over 2000 euros and the other just over 4500 euros?

I promise I only took one seat, checked in once and was in cattle class
on both the outward and return legs.

Were you, or are you ever planning to be, a character from Charlie and
    the Chocolate Factory?

Were you expecting it to cost that much? €2000 seems rather a lot of
money for even a full fare seat to Milan.

Contact the airline's reservations team and ask why you've been
charged so much. €4500 is a bit expensive too!

I've no idea, luvvie. Something's gone wrong somewhere!

Normally, a full fare eco-class (changeable, etc) flight would cost
    about 800 euros.

But I've got an idea as to why.

I think that it may be that they've lumped together a number of flights
that I've booked in advance, but have shown only one flight on each of
the invoices. The other question I need to check, is why I appear to
have had two separate reservations for the 30th June.

Something has definetly gone wrong though.

As an aside, did you hear of 2F in Charles de Gaulle being closed down
for a number of hours on the 30th? Apparently they'd found a pistol in
the airport and decided to get everyone out and re-xray everyone coming
back in again. I saw nothing on the news and it had delayed my return
    flight by three hours.

On the upside, Air France credited me with 4000 miles for the
inconvenience. At this time, I have over 260,000 miles, with which I
can go pretty much anywhere in the world with SWMBO and mini-cab in tow.

Can I just say at this point that if you become the sort of person who
takes an un-sedated infant on a long-haul flight then I *will* track you
down and I *will* beat you to death with your child.

    Thanks.

  12. Coupla years back, I flew into CDG on business, and they stopped us entering
the main terminal and made us wait on on one of them finger things. A few
moments later, there was une grande bang. I accosted a gendarme in a
friendly manner and asked him qu'est ce passe or something rather more
grammatical. Ah, quoth he, une homme had left his bagages unguarded so les
    flics had blown them up.

    Kewl.

I'm a tad overdrawn at the "fucking off with a bunch of mates for a few
days" bank ATM, and I've used a lot of holiday already this year.

Next year is a definite possible maybe, thobut.

Alison Hopkins () gurgled happily, sounding much like
    they were saying :
I've seen the aftermath of similar - at CDG, bien sur.

As we went up the big escalator thingy, post-bang, you could clearly look
down on the cordoned-off bit and watch les flics meandering around picking
slightly singed undies and socks up...
