  1. Are you alive?

I heard on the local news this morning that a biker has copped it in Hythe -
rode into a fence or summat. There's probably more than one biker near Hythe
but I thought I'd make sure you're still breathing :)

I'm here. I'm not dead. Reports of my passing have been greatly
    exaggerated.

I've hunted around BBC News and have found this article
    <http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/5414342.stm>

    ""
A motorcyclist has died after crashing through metal fencing and
landing on a miniature railway line in Kent.

The 24-year-old man was riding "at speed" at the junction of Station
Approach Road and Queens Road, in New Romney, in the early hours of
    Friday.

His 18-year-old pillion passenger was also thrown onto the tracks of
the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, suffering a broken leg and
    ankle.

The rider died from serious injuries at the William Harvey Hospital in
    Ashford.

Police said he was a local man while the passenger was from Appledore.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened
at 0345 BST and involved a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle.
    "

The A259 is a good road to play with on a bike in parts, especially on
the way to Rye, but the bends do catch people out, even locals
sometimes and the bends that have train tracks over them along with a
plastic road surface aren't all that good at the best of times.

However, if it was my time to pop my clogs it would be at 03:45 with
an 18 year old so well done Mr. Ninja. However, it probably wouldn't
be in an RTA but some alcohol and drug fueled romp.

'Kin hell, those miniature trains are thorough.
I thought the article said the rider was "riding at speed"? How the **** do
they know that if there were no witnesses I wonder?

They chop cars in half quite regularly. It's a proper railway.
Pillion possibly. 'riding at speed' could mean > 1mph.

Sometimes it feels like I wish I was dead every second. Generally
    through sheer boredom.

You do own a bike, yes? I mean, I do get bored at work sometimes but
then I go for a ride and everything gets better.
