I finished These Are the Days That Must Happen to You , I must do a
little review on it. Generally worth it, but no new material.
Stalingrad was top notch, I was looking at it the other day with a view
    to a second read.

It ties in nicely with my re-watching of The World at War, which is
being broadcast by the UK TV History channel every lunchtime atm. The
joys of being laid up and off work :)

I've put Beevor's 'Berlin' in my Amazon wish list - anyone read that?

His POV is based on fact. The opposite POV is based on lies, and "God
    said it was okay".[/QUOTE]

Please let us know these 'facts', then.

Oh, wait. You can't see this: you've 'killfiled' me.

    How convenient.

Indeed, remember that it's been pointed out here to him (by me and a
couple of others) that there were no 'Palestinians' until the Arabs
decided to start their confidence trick by claiming that they were in
Palestine before us. It has also been pointed out to him that Israel
currently possesses something like a thousandth of the land in the
Middle East. It has been pointed out to him that the people who call
themselves 'Palestinians' are actually culturally, ethnically and
linguistically Jordanian or Egyptian. It has been pointed out to him
that every conflict in the Middle East since c. 1910 has been started by
Arabs. It has been pointed out to him that in roughly 1,300 years of
presence in the region, the Arabs were unable to do anything more than
exist as backward nomads living in tents, and that in the sixty years
since the creation of the state of Israel, it has been turned into the
most fertile, vibrant and democratic entity in the Middle East. It has
been pointed out to him that nowhere in the history of armed conflict,
has the status of 'refugee' been passed from parent to child, and that
the 'Right to Return' of the Arabs currently living outside Israel, has
no basis in public international law. It has been pointed out to him
that the Jews accepted the partition plan based on the Balfour
Declaration, and that (it bears repeating) every war since 1948, has
been started by the Arabs. It has been pointed out to him that Jews do
not defecate on top of mosques, nor do we take pleasure in killing, nor
do we send teenage boys to their death with explosive belts strapped to
their chests. It has been pointed out to him that the 'settlements' are
in fact entirely legal, and that in giving back the Sinai to Egypt,
Israel has already complied with Resolution 242 (which, incidentally,
authorises Israeli control of other parts of the Middle East to ensure
    her security).

Yet Blaney continues this monstrously idiotic belief that the Jews
somehow 'stole' the Arabs' land. How can one 'steal' something that
already belongs to you? How can one 'steal' something from someone who
is not the lawful possessor ?

My entire professional life is devoted to education, but I think that in
Blaney's case, there are only two possible explanations for this
stubborn refusal to see the truth:

    1. rampant anti-Semitism
    2. _colossal_ stupidity

I'd plump for a bit of both, with the emphasis on (1.).

stated, 'His [Fisk's] POV is based on fact'.
