  2. Articles above say that BMW Lubricant #10 Part Number 95009000190 should be
    used.

North Oxford BMW say - MR BROWN, UNFORTUNATELY THE LUBRICANT PART NUMBER
THAT YOU HAVE REQUESTED IS NOT KNOWN WITH BMW. WE RECOMEND USING A HIGH
QUALITY GREASE INSTEAD. MANY THANKS JAMES.

Any alternatives ? Hog - you suggested Optimoly -

Any cheaper alternatives ? eBay computer says no.

    In
apparently Honda dealers have their version of Optimol too. I begged some
Optimol from one of our factories when on a visit and noticed we used it on
some of our crane lubrication :)

  5. Ahh, cool, just remembered one of my mates - Paul - works for Castrol, I'll
give him a shout if the numpty at N.Ox.BMW can't find the splinelube on the
    shelves.

The thing about spline lubes is that you want something with 60% molybdenum
disulphide. Motorworks sell Castrol Moly grease for spline lubing, but it's
a lithium grease with a little moly added. You can get stuff like Honda
Moly 60 paste, or Abbey MOLY G-n Paste, which can be obtained from sports
    shops catering to airgunners.
