I downloaded it. It seemed to work but the UI isn't entirely intuitive
until you work out where to click for stuff and there doesn't seem to
be anywhere to add plug-ins for ad-blockers, etc.

Maybe more interesting when it leaves beta, if I'm still alive by then.

  3. Maybe.

What are you planning to do that's going to kill you off? Brining some
    nitro-brew to the EOSM?

Are you fishing, or would you like some examples?

I read through the comic they put up and conceptually it
    makes a lot of sense...

Similar here. It starts fast enough and renders pages quite quickly
but I also had it lockup and stumble a few times on Youtube.

    All the best ..

I was thinking more of dying in my sleep aged 95. By which time Google
Mail, Chrome and the ext2 filesystem will probably still be in beta.

The cartoon, the way they've explained it or the software itself?

Installed on my desktop box now. Didn't need a separate flash install
this time, but it's still slower than IE8. It also uses a fair bit more
RAM than IE (17MB on a clean start compared to 9MB for IE).

I do like the 'most visited' thumbnails page, but don't like the lack
of a search provider dropdown (is there an add-on for that?).

I'll leave them both open for the day & load the same in each & see
    what happens.
That's frankly a bit pants. I want to be able to paste an ebay item id
in & go straight to ebay, not get a list of Google search results for
that number. I also want to be able to paste a word into the Chambers
dropdown[1] to check the UK spelling/definition, not get a list of
results for Wiki, YouTube & yank dictionaries.

[1] Although tbf the Chambers one isn't in IE either - it is in Firefox
    though.

There's something funny with YouTube of late - I've had it knock FireFox3
over on more than a few occasions - open tab, pause, FF closes. Restart,
get all the tabs back no problem - including the YouTube one which is now
    working fine.

Hmm, now you come to mention it Adrian.

Youtube hasn't been viewable full screen for a while but I know this
PC needs a bit of TLC and I put it down to that.

    All the best ..

Egg online banking won't work with Firefox either. Well, you can see your
Egg accounts but it won't make a secure connection with other institutions,
stating that the feature is only available with IE.

  20. Just tried it and it works ok but I can't stand auto-complete and
there's no way of turning it off, so into the bin it goes.
