Seeing as you know lots about this, Ive just installed and run it, fucking
hell its shown up loads of stuff!! In fact 433 items!!

The question is now, what do I do? Im a bit worried cos there's registry
entries in there too, all relating to the hijacking software as it calls it.
If I quarantine all items will this be ok or am I likely to **** things up
    even more?

bin them. It gives you the option to save a backup of what's binned, then
in the unlikely event it has cocked up, all is not lost.

Oh don't get me wrong... things could still go wrong ;-)

You had some spyware on your system from the sounds of it... which will
happen if you install grokster etc...

Just keep running adaware regularly, and keep getting the update files for
    it.

Back them up, then bin them all. Worst case you'll get boot errors
saying that such and such a command could not execute. If that
happens, re-run adaware, restore everything, then remove them one at a
time till you find the culprit. Then un-install the fucker. That's
the only porblem that I've had with adaware, it can breka 'installed'
porgrams that you never meant to install. eg gator e-wallet
