You have mail to consider. Having been a secretary of meeting myself a few times I am not inclined to hassle on the phone for confirmation. No SAE arrived this morning returning my cheque so the odds are narrowing. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
I just realised that Demon's mail server has been fubar since about 4pm yesterday. Mail is reaching me spasmodically, if at all. So if want to reply by email I may need to point you to a different address. Or you could always try my mobile if you still have the number. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
OK Texted. Just going outside to continue battle with the trailer - see "If at first.." thread. Of the "if in doubt flat out" variety no doubt. As at Wiscombe 'the esses' is/are the key. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
Check your snail mail for an envelope bearing my scrawly handwriting. I suspect it should be good news. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
So - 704, or do I need to apply different digits? -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
Excellent. Gearing changed and sump lug wired yesterday. Will just need the stand and pillion rests unbolting, lights taping up and the race can fitted. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
Thankfully a trial loading this morning reveals that the Tart and Nordie will cohabit on my trailer OK. Normally Champ and I would each get a couple of competitor passes. As this is a re-scheduled meeting the Secretary can't supply any as yet. Not sure if Champ is bringing a brolly bird or spanner monkey with him, but my usual pit crew of SWMBO and lad are otherwise engaged because this is an extra meeting not in the calendar. So, if anyone was thinking of turning up, and wants to avoid paying for admission I ought to be able to get at least one helper in if they arrived early enough (8 am-ish ). Any assistance would probably be limited to helping make any adjustments to the Nordwest that Champ might think worth trying to improve the riding experience [1][2] [1] Substitution by a decent bike is not an option as riding a single was part of the package and I don't have access to a trick KTM or Husaberg. [2] Given only four runs, there should be ample tinkering time if required. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
There will be time to alter lever positions etc. before your first run and a bit of rear suspension tweaking might be possible between them. Your main learning curve, apart from adjusting to so few revs, is going to be riding on Dragon Evos with no tyre warmers. Given the very crowded state of the bike paddock area when I arrived, in good time as I thought it in June, I am toying with the idea of taking the bikes down the afternoon before and staking a claim to some space. The bikes will be OK as several of the west country contingent will have arrived early and be on guard. So potentially you might be able to blat it round a bit near Prescott[1] on Friday early evening, before a silencer change and unveiling of race numbers? [1] Not too near and subject to not frightening Snowy or anyone else on horseback naturally. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
OK, as early as possible to allow spannering afterwards by daylight would be good. Contact me on Thursday night or Friday morning to confirm. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
Only if you want to avoid the tenner admission fee. We bike hillclimbers are a pikey lot not used to having people pay to watch. It's an open paddock so anyone can turn up later and make helpful suggestions. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
