    Forecast looking OK for tomorrow.

Possibly rain today, although the Beeb 24 hour Cheltenham forecast for
late afternoon is more optimistic than the 'light rain' one for today
generally. So perhaps Champ would rather not have a hack round late this
    afternoon?

I will be going to drop off the bikes and claim a slot in the paddock
anyway. So if you are still up for it let me know an ETA otherwise I
will race[1] prepare the bike before taking it.

[1] For relatively modest notions of racing bearing in mind it will be
giving away some power, a lot of weight and a fair amount of grip, to
    the competitive 750 class bikes.

Never mind. The bikes won't get their first run for quite a while
anyway. Unless, that is, it suddenly starts raining. In that case the
organisers have been known to send us up out of turn to give a chance
for the car drivers to change their slicks for wets. Not a lot of wheel
changing amongst even the top ten bikes given that we have banned tyre
    warmers.

In view of your potentially invaluable role I might be able to leave a
pass with the gatekeeper of scarce spectator resources. If the Secretary
of the Meeting is around this evening I will ask if he now has some for
    me and let you know.

Update: Lady Nina isn't coming after all, and the sprog is working tomorrow,
so I can bugger off as early as I like. Eight-ish, you were saying?

Oh god - that's what I've got! Apparently " some people will have no
symptoms at all." Well, I've got no symptoms![1]

[1] Actually not true as I've been ill all week with: "Symptoms very
similar to flu and include headaches, fever, a cough and muscle and
    joint pain."

TBF you might be a bit bored if you arrive then. Champ and I really only
have to be there that early so we can walk the hill before the cars
start running (though we already did today).

Nobody around to give me my paddock crew passes this afternoon. Assuming
your email is valid I have mailed my mobile number. I will ask the SoM
first thing tomorrow for a chit to let you in when you ring to announce
    your arrival.

When does it all kick off tomorrow?

I'm picking up the sidecar around 10 in Walsall and reckon I should be
able to average a good 30mph if I use the motorway. So could be there
    at about mid-day...

You might very well catch our second practice run. They usually start
the 'timed runs'[1] after lunch around 2ish, but it depends how many
incidents there have been. Digging a Ferrari out of the gravel at Pardon
    can take some time.

[1] All runs are actually timed, but only the last two count.

Hmm. So it'll be a social visit then 'cos I don't think I will be there
    all day.

I must admit to having a slight frisson of anticipation and excitement
about picking up the outfit. A bit like when you're expecting to get
six of the best at school.
Heh. At least we're going to be trashing and crashing our *own* bikes.
