Inspector Karen Ellis, of the Force’s Roads Policing Unit, said:
“There are a small number of drivers whose poor approach to using the
roads is often arrogant. High speeds, coupled with this sort of
driving attitude, can result in catastrophic consequences. We intend
to act robustly to make our roads a safer place."

So, lots of new unmarked cars in your neck of the woods.

An outright lie. Marked traffic cars around might improve standards.
Unmarked cars generate only revenue and conviction rates.

As someone else said in another thread, this type of policing is much
better than cameras that target speed and tax evasion.

There's a chance if caught you'll get a bollocking rather than a nicking.
Slow but dangerous drivers, like myopic old cunts, might be taken off the
road. Plus cyclists could come under scrutiny, which has to be a good
    thing.

ITYF that marked vehicles are more effective at doing all that.

Only because I don't recall either of them ever posting of hitting
triple high speeds on the A417, I mean Gyp's got a Harley, and Snowy a
    car.

He lived about 100 yards from me in Tuffley and I went to school with him.
Used to ride a Kawasaki Stinger 125 with an exhaust note like an angry wasp.
See http://tinyurl.com/mcozx7 for a pic of him in Sixth Form!

I think the move to France was good for him. I was looking for an excuse to
    pop down there...

They're not budget in terms of image quality you get for the money,
I've got a tamron 55-200 as it's as sharp as anything, the drawback is
    it's autofocus speed is poor.

  20. They are a budget make, but can be very sharp - as our Rufus colleague
points out the autofocus speed isn't the fastest, but you can work around
that usually. At the price you can't go wrong - if nothing else it
will do as a lens to show you whether it's worth blowing big money on a
    lens to cover that range.
