I feel that in light of past events I ought to ask this question and
prepare to take some abuse like a man.

How long until NIPs tend to turn up these days?

I thought it was 2 weeks if it was from a camera BICBW. I'm still on
tenterhooks waiting for the same thing.

    That's what I thought.

Frustration 1 was that I'd set the cruise control to be sure of being
    safe but didn't spot that I'd gone from a 50 limit to a 40.

Frustration 2 was that my recently ordered Inforad GPS speed camera
warning device was sat on the mat waiting for me when I got home :-(

Two days for the one my brother got last week. Camera van on the M6
near Shap on Monday, NIP on Wednesday.

ITYF they have to post it within 2 weeks, postman pat could take a
while longer to get it to you and if it doesn't arrive you can't prove
    a thing.
    Ah, bugger.

I'm no longer the expert in these things, I'm afraid.

Nope, coming down off Shap on the M6, empty open road with a van on a
    bridge.

    Fixed penalty for 87mph.

My flabber is gasted, has anyone else seen this behaviour on motorways?

I'm careful looking for Plod on bridges and downramps but a cuntish
trick like that could put me on News at 10.

You'll often see camera vans on the M6 as you go through both
Lancashire and Cumbria. Don't just rely on seeing them sitting on the
bridges either because they set remote cameras up and sit back off the
bridge a bit and they also sit in the shadows under the bridge on some
    sections.

    You've been warned.

You couldn't really miss him, bright yellow van with "Camera" on the
    side.

Well, obviously my brother did but I'd seen it. Mind you, I was doing
80 and he was doing 110.

If someone were to be thinking of perverting the course of justice, someone
might wonder if it might be possible to contrive a set of speed-sensitive
numberplates that faded to a nice black colour upon breaching FCPO nominal.
Obviously, this would need to be intelligently coupled to a decent satnav
system, and perhaps fitted with a discreetly-placed warning light to alert
the pilot to the activation of stealth mode.

As that's fairly local to me, I'm on that road reasonably often, and
it's a known spot for the parasites. To be fair, the bit they usually
use is quite visible from a good distance - I'd be interested to know
what their spotting range is. There is a very obvious yellow van in
use, fully marked up "Cumbria Safety Partnership", but also unmarked
    white ones are used.

Ok, can you purchase showplates that have been sourced outside of the
UK? Looks like there's a market there.

Who's good at building websites and e-marketting?
