Package arrived OK, beer tokens by return of post.

Many thanks on this one, you've *no* idea how many hoops I'd have had
    to jump through otherwise.

Btw, they've paid for themselves already :)

No worries, mate. All present and correct? I was a bit concerned 'cos
there was a tiny gap in the jiffybag upon resealing it, and I only
noticed it at the post office with a humungous queue (I used the
automatic stamp-issuing wotsit), and with no more sellotape ...

As for the beer tokens, much appreciated although not required. Have
you put your return address on it? I ask because in a little over sixty
hours, the dream for which I have been preparing for over forty years,
comes to fruition. ... your beer token might never be detokenised.

Yes, yes. Well no, no. Tuesday morning, guys 'n' gals, UKRM will
finally be rid of its favourite Jew. Well, for a month or two, at any
    rate.

Not half as much as UKRM will enjoy it, I wager.

  8. Does this mean you won't be French any more? (Nor Irish, nor Scots?)

I still have dual French and Irish nationality, and can't imagine
relinquishing the French. Nor would it be 'right' of me to only claim
'Frenchness' when all's hunky dory. A 'fair weather Frenchman', as it
    were.

We were out seeing a very good mate of mine whose girlfriend pupped
three months ago, and t'was sad to say farewell. My Jewish friends, no
problem, I'll see them again as Israel is our country, our land. So
they'll come over. The non-Jews tend to get put off by the 'situation',
and one often hears, 'are you not afraid??', or 'it's a warzone over
    there!'

Well, no. When we were there last year (Tel Aviv and Haifa), there were
rocket alerts further south down the coast in Ashkelon, but we were
    cool.

So no, I'm still French. When my Israeli citizenship gets granted (it's
my right), then I'l send the Irish passport back to the embassy.

Funny, but for some reason I always used to think they were in the
wrong. I suppose it was based in childhood on some idea that the Jews
were 'more like us', where 'us' included ideas about religion, as well
    as social and cultural customs.

It's only in relatively recent years that I've finally accepted the
    truth of the situation.

There's a huge amount of stuff in popular culture portraying the Jews as the
good guys - much of it from the US, it has to be said. Think of all those
Technicolor biblical epics, produced by a film industry in which Jews are
heavily over-represented. Thinking about it, that sort of thing was always
Jews v. Romans, and the Romans haven't been around for ages, so there's
never been a section of popular opinion saying "Oi! That's unfair to the
Romans!", and therefore the Jews' position as good guys has been accepted by
    default.
We've kind of had our noses rubbed in it of late.
