    As I said to Dodger, I expect _at least_ one photo of someone holding
    the piece in a certain way...

    Hope you can make something of it. If you manage to find an
    interesting direction to slice it, I wouldn't mend a piece 4-6" across
    (by 3/16" or 1/4" thick) to mount a clock mechanism in.

    Don't go out of your way, it'd just be nice to have a memento of that
    particular tree.
