    What? <hurries to Amazon site>

Well ****. I guess you read from the reviews that "A potentially
fabulous box set is scuppered by the fact that four of the films - The
Birds, Marnie, Torn Curtain and Topaz - are presented in completely
the wrong aspect ratio, despite information to the contrary on the
    boxes themselves"

Too late to cancel my order. Tho it sounds like I'd have a justified
    reason to return it.

See "pan and scan". I am sure that some of his older films were 4:3.
    I find him too contrived.

Pretty much every film from the 30s until the 50s was shot in 4:3
(1.66:1). The Hitchcock films in that box set that are shown as 4:3
pan/scan were, however, shot in 1.85:1 so are not shown in their correct
    ration.

Not seeing the full frame can make a huge difference to the experience.

Yeah, there's nothing worse that missing the cum hitting the tongue
because it's off to the side of the frame.

    I hate that.

Sorry, I thought we were discussing cinema criticism. I'll shut up.

I know him too, but I don't feel the need to boast about it.
