Don't know if I mentioned the dosage - I was on one tab three times a
day, no special mealtime requirements. I did notice a couple of odd
side-effects, in that I seemed to develop an odd taste/smell in my
mouth while using them. The other effect I noticed at that time, a
whistling in the ears, was much more probably down to the morphine.

Yup - I get that with large codeine doses.

They don't have any narcotic (i.e. sleep-inducing) effect; I was using
them for a while after I'd dropped the morphine so's I could drive to
work.

I'll see how it goes.
