    told to fly in, almost guaranteeing an incident like the above, when one
    of the uppermost planes drifted out of place.

  6. I thought that at first, then reasoned that at least the crew would have
    had *some* chance of escape, though those who didn't would have a minute
    or so of torment.

    Also, the aircraft exploding wouldn't have done any favours to others
    nearby.
