My advice is change the locks.

Actually, on reflection, get someone competent in to change the locks.

Brief summary while I await T's call to check on progress.

    Cooker failed.

Gyp finds replacement in B&Q for £110 which fits in existing slim slot
    (fnaar)

T decides if we're having a new cooker then we should have proper one,
not slimline. This necessitates moving boiler which is next to existing
    cooker in kitchen.

Age and condition of boiler rules out moving it 4" left into available
gap so need new boiler. New boiler must be condensing combi, condensing
combi can't go in desired slot as too close to boundary line.

Combi installed in airing cupboard upstairs requiring significant
re-routing of pipes and consequent moving of furniture and uplifting of
carpets and floorboards. Oh and emptying the loft.

"Whilst we're doing this we might as well have new rads as the old ones
are getting a bit rusty and have no thermostatic valves. So all the rest
of the furniture is moved and the rest of the carpets and floors are
    messed about with.

Bedroom rad leaks, garage ceiling sagging.

"As we're now got a big gap in the kitchen where the cooker and boiler
were, we can now get a proper cooker, but we really ought to replace the
kitchen as it's a bit old and what with the floor being up so much you
need to take out the units to get the floor sorted"

    Kitchen ordered.

Big storm, water from flat roof gutter too much for new through-roof
flue gasket so water though ex-airing-cupboard and takes out ceiling of
    lounge/diner and dining table.

Flue sealed. New ceiling agreed for living room once everything else is
    done...

To get to the wiring for the kitchen, need to lift floor in bedroom
above (Horse's room) and have access for a few days. So it makes sense
to gut and redecorate the other bedroom which is so full of junk it's
difficult to traverse and put Horse in there as it's bigger than he one
he's in, and it means there's less time pressure on sorting out the
kitchen ceiling if I have access to the room above for longer.

"...And if it's being decorated then we really need to re-carpet and do
similar in the little room once the floor's back down and it really
makes sense to carpet the master bedroom at the same time as that'll
    make it cheaper..."

The only room unaffected so far was the downstairs hallway (the upstairs
being clobbered by the tsunami and from having the carpet and
floorboards lifted more times than I can recall.

    That was until the pattresside.

To add to the fun, I have realised just how poorly insulated the house
is around the dormers, and to fix this will require me to lift all of
the existing t&g boarding in the loft and cut access holes in the
    downstairs ceilings. Joy.

Through all of this, the Harley has been under a duvet in the garage,
and the Beemer has been abandoned along with the trailer under cover in
the secure car park at work (battery now flat). The Zed is in a
neighbour's garage until they get back from holiday next week.

I'm off to pull some cables.

Then maybe try and strip the hall wallpaper for re-use

And get some structural building adhesive to stabilise the wall...

Sounds like prime day time TV material to me. Have you sold the film
    rights?

I'm in negotiation at the moment, but have to finish filming "Where
Michelins Fear To Tread" and the sequel "The Land That Grip Forgot"
before I'll get chance to get to it.

At the moment it looks like it's going to be a major mini-series at
prime-time on Sky entitled "When Women Spec DIY Projects". I'll be
played by Brad Pitt and T will be played by Bella Emberg

I have to say that T is far more attractive than that pan-faced gurning
twat of a woman. Also Rhys Ifans is far too debonair and good looking
    to portray Gyp.

If you do I swear I'll do that thing that drives you so mad. Again.
I'm sure I could find another woman just as unreasonable...

Anyway, Cameron D's a bit odd looking. Fit but odd looking.

I'll let the Rhys Ifans thing go. Especially as I've just heard that
Peter Stringfellow has been signed to star in "Champ Of Paahnd Island"
