    Are you running a 56, a 75 or a 79 movement?

Have you had it serviced, and if so how many arms and legs were
    involved?

Good work, Gyp. The only **** that doesn't understand the question is
the one of whom it was asked. Fantastic!

Oh I took it as a SOBeemer question but not one I could answer!

    56 being the R26 single
    75 the R60/5 was revised
    79 the R65 replaced the R60

In which case my answer would be '81 R65. Myself. Not a lot.

Surely it's a reference to a Rolex or some such?

I was trying to discover what movement was in your watch. Of course if
your watch isn't what I think it is then none of the above might be the
    right answer

I only wear lightweight watches so it's a titanium Breitling. The answer is
yes and eeek. Like £380 eeek.
I guessed the other answer was you are seeking a Rolly wearer.

Such is the way of uk.r.m., is it not? Half the fun (to me) is
interpreting the more esoteric posts - providing they're spelled,
quoted and snipped correctly, of course.

That's what I was after... Mr Heuer wants 180 a year to service mine
(facelifted version of Bonwick's) so they get it every 5 or so

I've fancied an Aerospace for a while and wondered how that compared.
Badly it seems, which is odd, what with it being quartz.
    No, never fancied one

If he paid that for an Aerospace service, it was, IME, a total case
refurb. (that is they re polish the whole bracelet. It comes back look
    completely new).

The usual service, seals, battery etc, is quite a bit cheaper. ISTR
about the same as the Rolex above, but I've not had mine long enough to
    need another battery.
    Me neither.

    Fair enough.

I'd decided that it might be nice to blow my rather substantial
collection of Tesco vouchers on an Aerospace, but with the high price of
new ones I'd still end up shelling out about 1/2 price in cash for one.

Even from dealers, preloved newish ones are no more than that, with
private ones even cheaper, and as I'm not precious about it being new I
think I'm more likely to go that route as I'll spend less cash and still
have £800 in vouchers to blow on Christmas.
