It's put up or shut up time regarding the leaning sidecar idea.

    230270883265

**** knows how much the reserve will be set at but the bloke's
offering "assistance and advice for you to finish this project to the
    bike of your choice".

Apart from LMF there's no excuse not to have a bid so get on with it.
It's not exactly a long way down the A1 from York to Cambs so viewing
    it shouldn't be an issue.

    Not a chance.

I'd have thought that fitting it to either your XS650 (1) (2) (3)or
your SOBMW would have been easy enough to do and the bloke's even
offering advise on doing the job. You keep saying you want a leaning
sidecar and there's one available so get on the case.

    (1) Assuming you've still got it.

    (2) Those nice people at Wasp will do a subframe for the XS650 along
with any Halco bits you desire. Well worth a phone call...

    (3) I'm sure that Wessex sidecar I'm currently tidying would fit the
    XS.

Alternatively he could do what I've just done and see that the seller
has actually said that the reserve is set at £250. Maybe I should have
paid more attention when I read the bullshit.

If it was something I really wanted I'd email him and offer him £300
to take it off him and see where it got me.

Nice, but I think Hog may want something that will lock up as a rigid outfit
for sliding about on snow. I don't see that mentioned anywhere, although it
    may be easily doable.

Now, call my pessimistic, but that looks like a bit of a death-trap to
me. The bit where the front wheel crabs sideways is entertaining enough
when it's all rigid, but when there's a chance for it to tuck under
    too...^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^

    ^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^

Looks great Hog, on you go and don't forget to video it!

This. I can't see anyone who didn't fall for the madness last time
    doing it next year.
I wonder if I can get it fixed for January?

I think Gyp has the right of it. Home made death trap. See where he talks
about it restricting left hand lean for instance.

I expect I will end up with a conventional chair for the purpose. It won't
be on the XS as I plan to out that and the RD and the B12.

I have looked over the self build option for a leaner. It quickly becomes
apparent there are more variables than first meet the eye. A Swiss unit is
the only sensible option and they only do the wrong side for UK.

Why can't you accept that you (nobody else) wrecked that bike and
because you didn't look after it it's fit only for breaking?

Listening to you go on about that bike is like listening to a 5 year
old explaining why their 'comfort blanket' has to be kept when
everyone with more than a single brain cell knows it's time to throw
    it in the bin.

    Because it's not.

Or give it a good clean and mend.
Like I'd see sense anyway. It's not like you're telling me anything I
    didn't already know.

It was promised to Timo but he hasn't shown any interest lately. TBF I
didn't transport it to England, but I could now.
For what I have spent on it with a pro crank recon, rebore, points,
condensers, exhausts, new seat, new rear mudguard etc etc.

It needs the frame and swinging arm painting (NOT powder coated) and a pair
    of mirrors to finish.
