OK, I'm working away for a couple of weeks anyway.

    <thinks>

Wonder if it'll fit in the boot of a Passat, 'cos I'll be passing your
    way anyway..... perhaps not.

They're nothing special, really, are they? Our moggy DLH looks like it
could pass for one in bad light.

Maine Coon [1] or maybe a Clouded Leopard OTOH ;)

When you say 'seeking good home' I assume there would be a large wodge
    of cash involved as well.

    [1] Shouldn't they be renamed?

  5. My Bear is a Wegie, and he is the most beautiful boy on the planet. So
    there. :)

Why are you rehoming the lovely Maine Coon girl? She looks gorgeous.

  6. My two (one neutered Queen Siamese, one really stupid moggie) are
getting old and I'd always intended to get another siamese or a maine
coon when they shuffle off. She's obviously used to other cats, being
an indoor cat would be fine, only in summer the patio doors are kept
wide open so I'd have to keep the dining room door shut.

Hang on, I'm not talking myself into this.

No, no, please do! Then I will feel OK telling Kate she just missed out on
the sort of cat she really really wants to get (as if having 4 of them
(other cats, not MCs) isn't bad enough already....). If no-one takes it my
subconcious may make me inform her that there's one up for grabs and she'll
*insist* we drive over and bag it.....

Erm, but I wasn't talking about Coons. I was googling pictures of
Norwegian Forest cats (unless they are also Coons)
    Cool. Very fluffy
That would suit ours, OTOH I really wonder how he would take to company.

Especially since we can't partition off the house sensibly. Where are
    you based?
    *want* :)

    Seriously tempted. Couple of issues

    1) You're a damn long way away
    2) Because of the way our house is laid out, we wouldn't be able to keep
our current incumbent away from any new mog.

Suggestions to resolve these may well be treated seriously as I have
wanted a coon for some years.

    Harlow, darkest Essex
We have no idea, you see. He hasn't been close to another cat since we
got him from the RSPCA. On the rare occasions he gets another in the
garden, he tends to look at them with a stupid expression. He is
terminally jealous, though. He refuses to come and sit on one side of
the sofa, for example, but has to force SWMBO and I apart. At night
he'll come and lie with me, right up until SWMBO comes to bed, where he
stalks off. So I'm just not sure.
    Could be exciting to watch.
Or it's throat, from the inside ;)

Can she jump? Ours does go out, and I wouldn't be prepared to stop him
from getting into the garden. He can't get out of the garden since (as
a result we think of early abuse) he has a very poor sense of balance
and can't or won't jump more than about 2 feet up. The fences around
our (15' square) garden are about eight feet. If she could get over
that, it would be not good.

    Sounds familiar

Yes, the local cats do the 'claw the way up the clapboard' thing. How
    would you catproof it?

I understand. I'm away next weekend though. I also need to have a
serious chat with SWMBO who will probably veto it :(
    MZ's or cats ;)
