Paging Lozzo

  1. Huge eight-page special on the RD400 in the new Classic Bike.

    I *think* there are some errors in it - like saying that the last US
    market Daytonas had the swoopy tank and panels from the early LC.

    But I'm sure you'll find them.

    You're correct on that score. The Daytona had bodywork that was swoopier
    than the older coffin tank models, but it was never fitted with LC
    bodywork. If I was to be really pedantic I could mention that Canada got
    the RD400G for 6 months after the USA stopped importing Daytonas, and no
    Canadian models ever had LC bodywork. Also, the 400G was never called,
    or badged as, Daytona for the Canadian market, it simply had '400' on
    the sidepanels.
    Thanks, I'll search a copy out tomorrow. Do you want me to list the
    inaccuracies in a letter to the editor?

  4. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Ferger amazed us all with this pearl of wisdom:
    Heh, like like the cut of your jib ;)

    Sorry to thread wander but can you tell me if there are a couple of
    piccys of a guy named Vincent Mulhall on a few old bikes (One being a
    liberated from Jerry in the desert thing). Its the old dear next door to
    me who I lent a couple of Classic bike mags to and he sent some piccys in.
    He'll buy a copy if they are in.

    TIA

  6. Please advise also if it appears in print, Lozzo. My experience of
    writing to the press offering similar corrections is that they must
    file them under "R". Certainly, I've never seen any of my contributions
    in print, and in fact I have often seen the same inaccuracies repeated
    in subsequent issues of the same title.

    Which publication?

    (a) MCN;
    (b) Ride;
    (c) Both of the above.

    I'm voting for (c).
