Would you happen to have access to an M20x1.5 r/h thread bolt or set
screw that I could use as an alternator rotor puller on this fucking
twatting awkward poxy little Honda thing of LN's, please?

I originally thought it was M19x1.5 but I've been put right by a 400 V4
    expert.

M20x1.5 - that's an electrical thread isn't it? (cable glands and the
    like)

    I can get a die for 14 quid (+ P&P) or there's a used one finishing
tonight on Ebay for (currently 7 quid (inc P&P). That does look a tad
    used though.

The £14 quid one *should* be here by the weekend if you want me to get
    it.

I love it when people don't want to pay £22 for a tool but are
willing to **** around wasting their time to save a few quid.

You could have bought the damn thing and been finished by now!

lol. As a past master of false economy i've (probably) spent £20 in
fuel to save a fiver before now.

    It's the principle, innit ..

So far it's cost me the best part of **** all, so if I can complete the
job for just a touch more than that I'll be more than happy. Not
everyone got a 120% of salary bonus last year.

That's ok thanks, but as the correct puller is 22 quid I'd be inclined
to buy that and shout at Mr Silver if it won't work.

    Thanks for the offer though.

It's not the principle of it at all. I only really need a M20x1.5 bolt
to do the job, not a woopy-doopy puller, so why should I waste 22
fucking quid on one unless I really absolutely desperately need to. I'm
not into wasting money, not even when someone else is paying.

But poncing off someone else is still either costing them money
directly (to buy or post or fuel to transport) or their time so
it still has some cost, even if it's not your own cost.

If they're willing to pay then more power to you, but nothing
    comes for free.
Heh, you're starting to sound like darsy.

Oh, and it was 135% ;-)

I wasn't expecting one for free, I'm prepared to pay for the bolt and
P+P, just not 22 quid for a puller unless absolutely necessary
    Nuff said.

But it has taken up a fair bit of your time as you've posted about here
for two days running and have obviously discussed the issue elsewhere as
well. How much do you value your time?

It's not taking up *all* of my time, so I'm not particularly bothered.

  18. Don't worry - with the cheap shite immersion heaters being sold now and
chalky water, you'll be using it again.

Go for this because I'm only home for about 36 hours and I've got a
massive headache at a power station (1) to sort out along with two
bikes needing mot testing in the time I've got at home.

    (1) A few million quid plus penalties if I can't work out a solution
to it. I love my job.
