    Hiya Muck.

I'd like to thank you for all of the help you've given me today. My
headlamp is astonishing and I don't have to replace it! Fantastic
job. Kawasaki charge a small fortune for a replacement headlamp so
you've saved me at least £200...

....Which was immediately invested in a £300 new Shoei X-Spirit in the
One True Colour featuring no-misty-foggy-upperey visor which is now on
my shortlist for The Best Thing Ever.

My two hour journey home was uneventful, apart from that 'moment' you
witnessed in your mirror when my rear wheel skidded to the right by
about three feet on that wet shiney road marking before the BP garage
roundabout while I was trying to balance a that massive tank bag and
use the brakes and accelerator on a bend at the same time.

Take care and I look forward to meeting you again.

    [1] Smaller, actually

Heh.. no probs mate. No more cable ties and ducktape holding it together
any more though. I did offer to sort out your clocks, but I guess you
couldn't part with those cable ties / ducktape and the mystery bracket.
If i'd had the dosh to get one of those, I would have. I did like the
matt black lids, but as was said at the time, it's hard to polish out
    any marks on those ones.
You weren't largin it up wiv the supermoto style then?
Just don't bring your credit card and visit a bike shop. ;)

One thing I did forget was the front fender/mud guard. But it did
start to piss with rain, which is never nice to work in.
It rained and rained throughout the journey home but did it fog up?
Not at all. Some dark sourcery is at work methinks.
I took it easy, mostly stuck to about 80mph for the duration but I did
    do some 90mph filtering.

I was very rude to a woman at Maidstone services. I put £10 worth of
juice in the tank, was utterly exhausted and felt very heavy, tired
and wet from all the water I was carrying and I couldn't be bothered
to remove my gloves or helmet so I hobbled into the petrol station and
was greeted with "You'll have to remove your helmet." "Number 2,
please" "You'll have to remove your helmet or I can't serve you."
"I've put ten pounds worth of petrol into the vehicle next to pump 2,
do you want my money or what?"

It was like a reverse hold up. Forcing money into the till.
This is a good plan with any shopping experience.

I think it's all to do with the coating on the inside of the clip in
visor thingy. Quite a clever system though. Well, clever if you don't
have to wear glasses like me. I'd have to put a non misting up coating
on those if I had a Shoei. Actually, I'd like a pisspot lid + goggles,
but having to wear glasses means I can't do the goggles thing. :(
I've never had that problem while wearing my flip front lid.
That, and not pointing a web browser at the ebay web site.

I wear glasses, but when I'm going to be out on the bike for any
length of time when it's likely to rain or at night I usually wear
    contact lenses instead.
Bah, you people and your fancy lids.

....Which has started to fogg up at the bottom, underneath the fog
    shield.

    Open.

When I say "under the fog shield" - I don't mean around it, I mean
underneath the unit itself. Exactly where one doesn't want it to fog
    up.

Headlamp has now been fettled and re-molished to a very high standard!

Next job: Straighten the front fender and (possibly) look at the
    clocks.

I'd suggest two things: the indicators, they look a bit odd, perhaps a
matching pair? Secondly, its a mudguard.

I asked, but Nick likes the indicators like that. :)

Yes, that wants a little fettle, as it's quite near the tyre isn't it. I
think I could get the headlight better by tweaking that a bit more too.
How's the aim on it by the way?

I don't believe that it's come into contact with the tyre, but when
I'm going slowly or over gravel I can hear the stones hitting the
    extender.

Aim = Forwards. I'll be using them for the first time at night
tomorrow so will let you know where it's aiming.
