  1. Want to make a guesstimate of the cost of a rear light cluter for the
ovloV? Other side this time - courtesy of the dozy tart next door to my
Mum's, who just reveresed into it without looking.......

    <sigh>

Fucknose. I'd be off to the scrappy if I was paying, but I suspect the
Schwedes want an arm and a leg.

Mined ewe, check with Pip. I think the wiring was a little "odd" in
there, so this might be the chance to get that replaced as well,
    IYSWIM...
Well, it's only a tiny little tank, hardly noticeable at all, really.
    Indeed.

Looks like it's about £30-£35 for one from GSFcarparts.

    That's if it's a 740, as I recall it is.

  7. Oh yes. and as always in these situations, I'll presume I'm paying until
    she's actually coughed up iyswim.
    Paging Pip...
SMIDSY innit - reversed straight back across to the other side of the
road - to be fair this was the first time I've not lobbed it 2 wheels on
the pavement - but then I shouldn't have to....

I probably still would. It was an accident, a 'neighbour', not exactly a
    new car, etc. etc.

Saab new parts weren't that bad. About the same if not cheaper compared
    against the other European manufacturers.

  10. Try German & Swedish, near Kingston. And try Ebay - that's where we got
a new rear light for The Doctor's Micra.

PS - it wasn't The Doctor. She was here.

  11. Some were. When mine needed new discs they were only ukp35 each or
something. When The Doctor's needed a new headlamp (silvering had gone
and it failed an MoT) it was about 300 sovs for a new one or 20 quid
from somebody breaking one a few miles away.

If it is the N/S then the wiring is dodgy, indeed. Iy won't be sorted
by replacing the light cluster though - the problem is the three or
four relay boxes and the dozen-plus scotchloks lurking in that area.

The intermittent indicator problem was due to the n/s bulbholder not
locating very well -a quick twist sorted that.

I'd get a new one from your local branch of German Swedish and French:
    https://secure.gsfcarparts.com/shop/results.asp

There are a couple of 10mm nuts retaining the unit, accessed by
popping the panel in the boot behind the light.
Wind the nuts off (they're not tight) and ease the light out - twist
and remove the bulb holders, offer up the new unit and replacement is
    the reverse of removal.

    POP, 10 minutes tops.

  13. For some reason I cannot ever remeber which is NS/OS, near to what FFS?
Anyway, it's the passenger side :)
Yers I remember you mentioning those whilst a shiver tingled it's way
    down my spine.
    Handy stuff - ta.
Watch me **** it up anyway ;)
Actually, that's not strictly likely - I sorted the fan belt okay. For
now. Must get a new one in ready for the inevitable.

    Thanks muchly,
