"Due to a double fatality in the Southall area involving a Heathrow Express
service there are currently no First Great Western services running between
    Paddington and Reading.

There is now no estimate when normal working can be resumed. "
So that'll be a no then for me and Avebury I suspect - they[1] really are
    very good at that.

    [1] the world, whatever

what you think two people killed themselves as part of a world
conspiracy to stop you going to a bike meet in Wiltshire?

LOL - not really no - but it does seem to happen with uncanny regularity
that whenever I _want_ to leave the office on time/early, someone/something
will have caused all the trains to stop.

Hence the footnote about they being the world/whatever.

You've certainly got the management thing of only reading half the message
    sorted.

And just to make doubly sure :

    1) Effects of double fatality at Southall with only the slow lines open
    until further notice.
    2) Major points failure in Paddington Station area. Engineers on site.
    3) Failure of freight train at Southall on the relief line from Paddington.

    So that's a definite no then :(

All academic, it's come over proper cloudy here and all enthusiasm
for a run out has evaporated. Bollocks to it.
