    It probably has not escaped your notice that this

    http://mongolrally.theadventurists.com/

    is going on at the moment.

    What you may not realize is that the only bikers doing the run this
    year are these guys

    http://mongolrally08.theadventurist...splay&pagemode=team_members&name=budgetbikers

    - of whom I am unreasonably proud for the totally unjustified reason
    that they drink with me (often and at great length) in the British
    Lion in Devizes - which is as everyone knows the best pub in the known
    universe.

    Anyway - thought you might be interested, since they're going ALL the
    way to Mongolia on CG125s.
    Like - real CG125s from the 70s. Mad cunts.

    AND they're in feckin Khazakstan already and the fucking party's not
    till the 20th...

    <shuffles off without mentioning that it's a charity gig...>

  2. Fucking mad. No reason they shouldn't make it if they take it easy.
    If only the Wehrmacht had had CG125s, history would have been very
    different.

    Best 'proper beer' pub in Devizes. Agreed.
    And Bob is in our club (Moonrakers). We had a whipround before he left and
    raised a couple of hundred quid for his chosen charity. Top blokes on an
    adventure of a lifetime.

    Hurrah! A Moonraker!!

    I *knew* there would eventually be an intersection between the set
    "UKRM" and the set "Wiltshire Bikers Who Drink In the Lion".

    Excellent!!

    Best club motto I've ever seen, the Moonrakers - "Nerves of Steel;
    Will of Iron; Knob of Butter" IIRC.

    You'll know Steve the long-haired off-roader - I was just saying to
    him the other night, I came back from Scotland full of the zeal of the
    convert as far as riding in a group's concerned and do you think I can
    find a group to tag on the end of? Can I ****, by the way. And you
    Moonraking cunts are no use 'cos you're all either pissing it up in
    the Lion or bimbling (according to Steve, I hasten to add).

    Anyway - which one are you?

    Email me if you like.

    Sounds like the next UKRM Avebury meet could have a few more attendees.

    <looks out window>

    Not tonight though...

    Moonrakers night is Thursday. However we often end up in the Lamb also.

    Steve (aka Mash). Top bloke. Riding in a group? Not too often onroad, but
    offraod, certainly. "Pissing it up" or "bimbling" sounds about right.
    Get along to our Gert Bustard rally in October. You'll meet the whole tribe
    and other 'interesting' people.

    Fantastic! Next time you see a loud-mouthed Scot being rebuffed by the
    barmaid, it'll almost certainly be me...

  13. Like thats a distinguishing feature..

    BTW - we are talking about the pub at the Moonrakers roundabout (I
    thought that was called The Moonraker personally) are we? Cos I work
    about 5 minutes up the road from there (Groundwell).

    Actually, in that pub, I think it is!

    We have other Scots, we have an over-abundance of loudmouths, and
    those of us who are being constantly rebuffed by the barmaids
    (particularly Chrissie) are legion - but I think I'm correct I'm
    saying that I'm the only regular who regularly combines all three
    characteristics.
